Puget Sound Energy Business Lighting Incentive Program
Business Lighting Incentive Program
Earn incentives on energy-efficient lighting
Lighting can amount to over 40 percent of your business’s energy usage, so switching to energy-efficient lighting can yield long-term savings. No matter your business’s size, PSE’s Business Lighting Incentive Program has flexible options to help you affordably upgrade your lighting plan.
For smaller-scale lighting upgrades, see if PSE‘s Lighting To Go instant discounts can also help.
2018 program
The total value of your business lighting incentive depends on the size and scope of your project.
All projects require PSE written approval before work begins.
How to qualify
Equipment requirements:
Before planning your business lighting upgrade, be sure to verify that you’re only using new, incentive-eligible lighting products.
All Fixtures, Retrofit Kits and Lamps must meet PSE minimum specifications (UL, ETL or equal listing, Power Factor > 0.9, Manufacturer’s warranty > 5 years). A manufacturer’s specification sheet is required to be submitted for every incentive eligible light fixture.
Project requirements:
To be eligible for PSE’s business lighting incentives:
• Your business site must be within PSE’s electric service area.
• Be a current PSE business electric customer.
• You must complete the current 2018 Business Lighting Incentive program application
• Sign and return the grant agreement and be given approval to start before any work begins on the project.

How to apply
2018 programs
Beginning January 1, 2018, we will only accept the 2018 Business Lighting application.
To be approved for a conservation incentive, you must do the following before work is started:
• Download and complete the 2018 Business Lighting Workbook.
• Submit the completed Lighting Workbook, the signed Customer/Payee Signature page from the Workbook, a signed and completed current taxpayer identification form (W-9), and manufacturer specification sheets of all lighting products to businesslighting@pse.com.
Wait for the PSE grant agreement.
After PSE reviews and approves the Workbook, a grant agreement (a contract) will be sent out which must be signed and returned to PSE within 90 days of receipt. Project installation may not proceed until PSE receives the signed grant agreement and returns to the customer a fully Executed Grant Agreement.

Street Lighting retrofit
If you are planning a street lighting retrofit or new street lighting installation on a metered account follow the instructions above and email your application materials to streetlightingincentives@pse.com.
Please contact us at streetlightingincentives@pse.com before filling out the application if you are unsure if the lights are on a metered or unmetered account, as all unmetered (flat rate schedule) street lights must be coordinated with PSE Pole Services.
Multifamily building retrofit*
If you are performing a multifamily common area lighting project, please contact the multifamily team at multifamilyretrofit@pse.com as they use a different application than Business Lighting.
* “Multifamily” applies to common areas of a campus or building with five or more attached dwelling units.
